Join us canalside at Grow in Hackney Wick every Saturday and Sunday from 1-4pm for an afternoon of free live music with master conga player Williams Cumberbache and his special guests.

Spend the afternoon in Grow’s hidden canalside garden terrace, listening to world-class live music direct from the pontoon stage. Soak up the music as boats float down the River Lea, and enjoy a hearty homemade Brunch or All Day menu, alongside drinks including signature cocktails, organic wine, lagers, IPA, soft drinks and hot drinks.
Live global music, Grow’s greenery and our waterside Hackney Wick setting create a uniquely relaxing and uplifting weekend experience for Londoners, visitors and anyone looking for free live music in East London. It’s also a chance to experience the area’s original creative and industrial roots, with Grow set within Hackney Wick’s long-standing warehouse, artist studio and canal-side culture.
ABOUT WILLIAMS CUMBERBACHE AND GUESTS
This dynamic weekly event is curated by master conga player and long-term collaborator Williams Cumberbache. With over 30 years of experience in the UK music scene, including collaborations with Goldie and Björk, Williams brings deep expertise, energy and passion to each session.
Set against the scenic backdrop of the canal in Hackney Wick, this free event showcases a carefully curated selection of London’s finest jazz and Afro-Latin musicians.
Expect jazz fusion, rhythmic Latin grooves, Brazilian and African sounds, with Williams performing solo or bringing together special guests from London’s global music scene.
As the leader of the eight-piece band Tumabito, Williams ensures every session is a celebration of diverse sounds and rhythms. Whether you're a jazz enthusiast, looking for free live music in Hackney Wick, or simply in search of a great time with friends and family, Grow’s Canalside Sessions offers the perfect blend of world-class music, relaxed weekend energy and stunning waterside views.
This experience is inclusive, family and dog friendly until 8pm. We welcome dancing if you feel like it.

ABOUT THE VENUE
Grow is a canalside bar, kitchen and creative space in Hackney Wick, converted from a warehouse and set within a community of artist studios. Rooted in the area’s original warehouse, canal and creative culture, Grow gives visitors a chance to enjoy live music, food and drinks while connecting with the independent spirit that has shaped Hackney Wick.
This cultural hub has tables on the terrace, inside the canalside greenhouse, on the ground floor warehouse and on the mezzanine.
This experience is inclusive, family-friendly and we welcome dancing if you feel like it.
