Balancing excellent service, strong team leadership, and smooth operations, and with an understanding of the wider context we operate in: grassroots culture, community, and sustainability. This is a hands-on role for someone who cares about people, place, and purpose as much as performance.

  • Lead shifts from the floor, ensuring a warm, efficient and inclusive customer experience

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and atmosphere

  • Manage opening/closing procedures and troubleshoot issues in real time

Team Leadership

  • Train, and support a diverse bar team

  • Work with the V&E Manager to ensure rotas balance team wellbeing with business needs

  • Foster a positive, respectful and communicative working culture

  • Lead by example - calm, solutions-focused, and consistent

  • Support Team development and hold accountability where needed

Stock & Financial Oversight

  • Support in product and equipment ordering, stock control, and wastage

  • Monitor bar profitability and margins, labour, and bar performance in line with targets

  • Ensure accurate end-of-day processes

  • Improve efficiency and margins where possible

Events & Programming Support

  • Ensure all bars are staffed and prepped appropriately for varying shift/event formats

  • Work with creative partners on site to deliver music, arts, and community events

Compliance & Responsibility

  • Uphold licensing laws and responsible alcohol service

  • Ensure health & safety and hygiene standards are consistently met

  • Act as a key point of responsibility during service

Sustainability & Ethos

  • Support Grow’s commitment to sustainability and ethical practice (including London Living Wage and using Green energy)

  • Minimise waste and encourage responsible use of resources

  • Represent Grow’s values in how the space is run and how people are treated

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a bar or hospitality management role (ideally in events-led venues)

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Confident in high-volume, fast-paced environments

  • Good understanding of stock control, margins, and labour management

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Personal licence (preferred but not essential, we will pay for training)

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone who leads with clarity, and accountability

  • A calm and grounded presence during busy or high-pressure moments

  • Passion for music, arts, and grassroots culture

  • Alignment with Grow’s values around community and sustainability

  • Proactive, organised, and hands-on

Additional Notes

  • This role requires evening and weekend availability

  • Flexibility around events and seasonal demand is essential

  • Opportunity to shape and grow within a unique, independent venue
