VOLTA45 INVITES FOFOULAH (LIVE) (AFRO DISCO // FUTURE JAZZ // GLOBAL CLUB // DUB)

Volta45 returns to Grow for another special night curated from start to finish, inviting the electrifying Fofoulah for a live performance before taking control of the dance floor himself.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Volta45 is renowned for his unique style, the London based DJ blends jazzy and percussive sounds from Africa, South America and the French Caribbean into a heady, high energy mix. A regular across the UK and European festival circuit, he has moved dance floors from Turin to the fields of Shambala Festival. As co compiler of Kalita Records’ best selling Borga Revolution, his deep knowledge of crossover West African music shaped by synthesizers, disco and boogie runs through every set.

Headlining the live show are Fofoulah, the London and Bristol based future jazz outfit signed to Glitterbeat Records. Inspired by a cosmopolitan mélange of influences, they fuse jazz improvisation and electronic music with traditional Senegalese rhythms, dub basslines, sci fi synths and sabar drumming. The result is a cauldron of intense, hypnotic grooves.

Featuring members from Senegal, the UK and The Gambia, Fofoulah have headlined the West Holts stage at Glastonbury and performed at Roskilde Festival, carving out a sound that feels both deeply rooted and radically forward looking.

As MOJO put it:
“FOFOULAH... are properly outlandish, teleporting the listener to some West African metropolis a hundred years in the future… this one’s fierce on every level.”

Expect an immersive night that journeys from live future jazz into deep, percussive global club sounds, curated entirely by Volta45 at Grow.

GIRLZ B LIKE 4TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY AT GROW : DJ MIHOKO // MARCIA DAVINYLMC // MEENA RAHI(BOOGIE, DEEP DISCO, GOSPEL, BROKEN BEAT)

International Women’s Month.  Four Years at Grow. One Unmissable Night. Yes. 4 years. 3 DJ's. 1 Debut single release.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Clear your calendar. Cancel your plans. The most essential dance floor moment of March 2026 is already locked in.  Girlz B Like returns on Saturday 14 March and this is not just another party - this is a statement, a celebration, and a full-bodied release of joy in the heart of London’s nightlife.

Marking four formidable years at Grow, Hackney Wick, during International Women’s Month, Girlz B Like continues its mission as one of London’s most vital grassroots dance music institutions - platforming women selectors, deep diggers and boundary-pushers from across the globe.  This March, the bar is raised once again.

Headlining is NYC-based consummate selector DJ Mihoko, making her long-awaited Girlz B Like debut.  A true original, Mihoko brings over 25 years of genre-defying dancefloor mastery, rooted in reggae sound system culture and refined through New York’s famously eclectic club circuit.  Expect a hypnotic journey through reggae, disco, boogie, soul, afrobeat, hip-hop and house - all delivered with heavyweight finesse and deep selector knowledge.  This is a debut London needs to witness.

Also premiering on the night: Meena Rahi, London gal-about-town, trusted party starter and familiar face on the Girlz B Like dance floor - now stepping into the booth, tambourine in hand, ready to raise the temperature and spirit levels in equal measure.

Holding it all together is Marcia DaVinylMC, Girlz B Like founder and resident hostess, opening the floors for the early arrivals and closing the night with a guaranteed eruption - deep house, left-of-centre forgotten gems, disco donuts… and a very indulgent twist of sounds reserved for the regular faithful.

As if that wasn’t enough, Girlz B Like launches its first-ever, ultra-limited 7” vinyl single, celebrating 10 years of GBL on Girlz B Like Recordings.  Think Record Store Day energy, but on the dancefloor.  Featuring the gospel-house light stomper “Joy” by DJ Emma, plus a jazz-tinged Afro-bruk brew made for discerning dancers. Copies for sale there will be for sure.  Blink and it’s gone.

Arrive early. Stay until the lights are up.

GUAVA JAMZ: ARIANE V // BEAVS // IDAH (SOULFUL HOUSE // DISCO)

A night of soulful house and disco lands back at Grow as Guava Jamz return for another high-tempo session. After a sold-out NYE throwdown, we’re buzzing to welcome Ariane V and Beavs behind the decks, armed with a crate of wax and the right intentions.

ABOUT THE EVENT

They welcome two incredible selectors in Ariane V and Beavs to soundtrack this journey through emotive soulful house & funk, leftfield disco, glistening italo and a hint of trippy techno as we delve deeper into the night.

Ariane V is a selector on the rise. Her reputation stems from spending years behind the counter at Phonica Records refining her unique electronic sound. Whether dialing it up at peak-time with breaks and acid cuts, or locking in for a heads-down ride, Ariane’s selections are rooted in a deep sense of groove. Emotive house cuts give way to driving prog, punctuated by leftfield disco, glistening italo and big piano moments.

Beavs has smashed it at our iconic Westival stage and most recently brought in the new year with us in a packed out basement of swooning dancers. She holds a regular show on Rinse FM's Bristol SWU FM station and has guested on Balamii, Noods, Void and Loose FM. She first started out hosting radio shows in Australia, on TLCFM and Gold Coast's Jazz FM 93.5 - venturing through multi-genre music history. Beavs is making her mark on the scene as a deep digger and soulful selector bringing an infectious energy to every set.

Joining them will be Guava Jamz founder and resident Idah, delving deep through soulful house and groove with some delightfully obscure edits slipped in. Having played at festivals from We Out Here to Westival to Queens Yard Summer Party and clubs from The Cause to EartH to Night Tales and beyond, his sets are designed to produce carefree dancing, big smiles, and feel good energy on the dancefloor.

Arrive early for this one to catch the full glow, phones in pockets and your finest dance moves please.

BRUK THERAPY: LILA // MO W/RIGHTS // OLIVER NIGHT // CENGIZ (BRUK, BROKEN BEAT, HOUSE, JAZZ)

Bruk Therapy is a genre-pushing club night rooted in London’s broken beat and underground dance culture.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Bruk Therapy is a genre-pushing club night rooted in London’s broken beat and underground dance culture. Curated by DJ Cengiz, the event brings together rhythmic innovation and soulful energy, creating a dancefloor experience that is both healing and electrifying. It's a space where bruk, soul, house, jazz and global latin percussive sounds collide, all carefully selected to move both the body and the spirit...

LILA is a Hackney-raised DJ, broadcaster and curator of French heritage based in London, known for eclectic sets that blend jazz and Latin-inflected broken beat, soulful house, UK funky and percussive bass-driven grooves. She began at 18 as a presenter on her local East London station, championing emerging talent before taking her sound to club dancefloors and airwaves alike. Now a proud Rinse FM resident with a bi-weekly show, she showcases deep soulful selections, fresh promos and her signature rhythmic voyage, earning a reputation as a key tastemaker in London’s underground. A member of the Brighter Days Family collective, she has played festivals including We Out Here, Outlook and Meadows in the Mountains, hosted Boiler Room events in Manchester and Leeds, and continues to champion inclusive, forward-thinking club culture through her own Braindance Events.

Mo Wrights channels the soul in his veins through narrative-driven mixes and productions that blend the young with the old, the clean with the dirty, and earthier riddims with the radiance of balmy jazz chords. A jazz cat by nature and house head by trade, he’s a producer, DJ, curator, and co-founder of Amsterdam’s Steppin’ Into Tomorrow, known for putting story first treating genres as chapters that move fluidly from House to Broken Beat, Rap to Jazz-Funk, Punjabi Garage, Chutney-Soca, Future Beats, and Jazz Rave while keeping the dancefloor locked in a shared pulse.

Oliver Night is a London-based producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist whose music moves fluidly between broken rhythms, soulful textures, house energy and hip-hop sensibility. Rooted in UK sound system culture but always forward looking, his work resists neat definitions, instead favouring feeling, groove and emotional depth.

Stepping forward with his debut album on Tru Thoughts, Between The Lines, Oliver delivers a rich, genre-spanning body of work shaped by collaboration, experimentation and community. The album features Roots Manuva, alongside KAYA FYAH, TREV, Goldbar, Megatronic, David Mrakpor (Blue Lab Beats) and Jay Phelps, each adding their own distinctive voice to the project.

Recent releases from the album have made a strong impact, landing multiple Number 1 positions on Traxsource and Juno Download, with the latest single reaching Number 4 in Traxsource’s Broken Beat chart. The album’s momentum was further cemented with a sold-out release party, where Oliver delivered a live PA that was warmly received, marking a standout moment in the project’s journey.

Whether behind the decks or performing live, Oliver brings a deep understanding of dancefloor dynamics and musical storytelling, refined over years of DJing and production. No matter the format, there’s a clear signature running through his work, thoughtful, groove-led and unmistakably his own.

Cengiz is London-based DJ, producer, and curator whose sets fuse soulful textures with raw percussive power. Deeply rooted in the UK’s broken beat, garage, and jazz-influenced dance traditions, Cengiz is more than a selector—he’s a storyteller. His signature is the seamless glide from the rich, emotive depths of jazz-fusion and bruk to the peak-time energy of big-room house and techno, all within a single set.

As a producer, Cengiz has released music on influential labels such as CoOp Presents and Dance Regular. His tracks, like the underground favourite MOTF (inspired by Norman Connors’ “Mother of the Future”) and the soulful anthem JOY featuring David Kayode, have become staples on radio, in clubs, and at festivals, supported by leading DJs across the scene such as Gilles Peterson and Jamz Supernova.

DEEPDIG: DISTANT RHYTHM // CEYLAN GÖKSEL (LATIN // GLOBAL GROOVE // JAZZ // PSYCHEDELIC)

DeepDig is Grow’s in house series, shining a light on some of London’s finest selectors and DJs and giving them the space to explore longer form sets. Built around patience, intention and immersion, the night centres on deep listening as much as dancing.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Headlining this edition is London based DJ and private record dealer Distant Rhythm aka Jamal Raouf, playing a special 4 hour extended set. Since launching his record platform in 2022, he has built a reputation for offering a thoughtful selection of pre loved records, each handpicked to reflect his passion for travel and musical discovery.

As a DJ, Distant Rhythm leans toward tropical and psychedelic sounds, guided by rhythm and atmosphere. His selections draw from percussive styles across the Caribbean, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East, moving fluidly between regions and tempos. Along the way he has played with the likes of Habibi Funk, My Analog Journal and the Beirut Groove Collective, with Giant Steps among the highlights.

In 2026 he launched Distant Echoes, a vinyl only mix series on YouTube exploring records from his personal collection that rarely surface in clubs, creating space for music that rewards patience and deep attention. That same ethos shapes his extended sets, where the journey unfolds gradually and organically.

Opening the night with a 3 hour set is Ceylan Göksel, an Istanbul born, London based artist, broadcaster and curator blending emotive storytelling with a contemporary sound shaped by electronic, downtempo, jazz, balearic and house influences. Deeply rooted in radio culture, her love for broadcasting is informed by her background at Worldwide FM and her ongoing eight year residency across Netil Radio and Resonance Extra.

Alongside her releases and DJ sets, Ceylan works across music supervision and production at My Analog Journal, helping shape the musical direction of the globally respected platform. MAJ has become an inspiration for vinyl collectors and diggers worldwide, sharing the sound of global groove through its celebrated YouTube channel and carefully curated sessions spotlighting diverse regions, genres and eras.

Spending her days working across the music industry, she documents her creative journey by using music as a way to connect with people and navigate life collectively across genres, spaces and audiences. Her extended opening set will set the tone with warmth, depth and intention before gradually guiding the room toward the dancefloor.

Two extended journeys. Seven hours of sound. A space to listen deeply and move freely.

GROW LIVE PRESENTS: ARFOUD BROTHERS & SISTERS (LIVE) // BEATKOZINA (DJ) (GNAWA // SAHARAN JAZZ // GLOBAL HOUSE

Grow Live presents a night exploring Moroccan and Saharan musical traditions through contemporary live performance and DJ culture.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Arfoud Brothers and Sisters bring a rich, rhythm-led sound rooted in Moroccan and Saharan musical tradition, often described as desert jazz for the dancefloor. Their live performances are driven by insistent percussion, cyclical grooves and melodic lines that unfold slowly, creating a hypnotic and immersive atmosphere.

The project is led by Abdelillah Ouahbi on guembri, guitar and vocals. His playing draws directly from the Gnawa tradition, a North African musical form built around rhythm, repetition and trance. Traditionally performed in communal settings, Gnawa music centres deep bass lines, call and response vocals and layered percussion, creating music that is grounding, physical and deeply connected to movement.

Taking their name from Arfoud, a Saharan city in south eastern Morocco with strong Amazigh heritage, the band draws on Arabic and Amazigh roots while weaving in Afrobeat, West African rhythms and Brazilian influences. Psychedelic guitar textures and blues-leaning melodies sit alongside earthy grooves, producing a sound that feels expansive, borderless and alive.

The result is music that feels both ancient and forward moving, designed to be danced to, felt collectively and carried with you long after the night ends.

The evening opens with Beatkoznia, setting the tone with a rhythm-focused DJ set rooted in Moroccan and North African musical traditions. Based between Marrakech and London, Beatkoznia are known for blending electronic music with Afro-centric rhythms, Middle Eastern motifs and deep, driving percussion, drawing on their experience in world music and club contexts. After the live performance, Beatkoznia return to the decks to carry the night forward, pushing the rhythms into a deeper, late-night club space with a more contemporary dancefloor focus.

Together, the night flows between DJ-led and live performance, tracing a continuous rhythmic journey rooted in Moroccan and Saharan tradition and shaped for contemporary dancefloors. A rare chance to experience North African musical heritage through rhythm, movement and collective energy.

A key figure in contemporary música popular brasileira in the diaspora, Aleh has shared stages with artists such as Seu Jorge, Ed Motta and Daniela Mercury. Bringing his full band to Grow, expect a powerful, high-energy live show filled with soul, rhythm and serious dance floor heat.

Before and after the live performance, DJ Tigas takes over, serving up Afro-Brazilian beats, Latin grooves and global rhythms to keep the floor moving all night long.

DEEPDIG: GRACE SANDS // FANNAR (DEEP HOUSE, DISCO, HOUSE, ACID)

DeepDig is about giving artists the time to dig deep, stretch out and build a room slowly from the ground up. Pull out unexpected records and let dancers settle into something that develops over time.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Grace Sands’ foundations sit in the roots of UK deep house culture. As part of DiY Soundsystem, she helped shape the sound that moved from Nottingham warehouses into the wider free party movement of the late 80s and 90s. That era was not built on quick peaks or neat programming. It was built on endurance, community and records that rolled for as long as they needed to.

Her grounding in hip hop, funk, post punk, disco and jazz still informs how she constructs a set. It is not about jumping between styles for effect. It is about understanding how groove travels, how tension builds gradually and how to hold a dancefloor without forcing it. In an extended DeepDig session, she has the room to go further into her collection, letting deeper cuts breathe and allowing the arc of the night to form naturally.

Fannar brings a different but equally dancefloor focused energy. Through co founding Meat Party and holding long standing residencies at spaces like Ziber, Happy Endings, The Divine and Adonis, he has built his reputation in rooms where connection and movement come first.

His sound moves through disco, house and acid with bounce and intent. He understands momentum, when to lift, when to lock into a groove and ride it. Given the space of a longer set, that instinct has more room to expand. Expect shifts that feel organic rather than abrupt, and stretches where the rhythm takes over completely.

ABOUT DEEPDIG

DeepDig is a night curated by Grow, that brings some of our favourite DJs and producers to play the sets that they don’t usually get to play at bigger venues and festivals. Expect lengthy, no-holds-barred DJ sets in intimate settings, where they have free rein to take the crowd in whatever direction they like.

Previous guests: Alfie, Arnau Obiols, Batukizer, blissy e, Brian Not Brian, Bror Havnes, Ceylan Göksel, Chris Wheatley, Cosmo Sofi, CSGRV, Dean Bryce, Demacque, Distant Rhythm, DJ Amir, Dom Ore, Frederika, Haseeb Iqbal, K15, Kanem, Kisa, Lanni, Liminal People, LORA S, Maria Hanlon, Martha, Medlar, Miche, Millie McKee, Mr Bongo, Mr Redley, My Analog Journal (Zag + Shaqdi), Nina Yamada, Paloma, Patrick Forge, Petra’s Dream, Poly-Ritmo, Rebecca Vasmant, Rohan Rakhit, Saachi, Sanoy, Stu Clark (WOLF MUSIC), Tea, Thristian, Tim Garcia, Tumbaito, Vandorta

EASTER SUNDAY – PETRA'S DREAM PRESENTS EMANATIVE PERCUSSION TRIO (SPIRITUAL JAZZ, AFRO-PSYCHEDELIC GROOVE, GLOBAL RHYTHMS, LEFTFIELD DISCO)

A night of cosmic sounds and deep grooves as Petra’s Dream bring Emanative Percussion Trio to Grow for a holiday special filled with live rhythm, atmosphere and all-vinyl selections.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Emanative is the project of drummer and producer Nick Woodmansey, created alongside his loyal group of long-standing musical partners. A subtle yet prominent force in the UK spiritual jazz scene, they operate with no rules or borders, often incorporating African and Asian influences. The project has a prolific catalogue on Brownswood, Home Planet, Jazzman, On The Corner and other labels, with collaborations ranging from US legends Ahmed Abdullah, Idris Ackamoor, Peter Zummo and Phil Ranelin to contemporary visionaries Four Tet and Matthew Halsall.

The latest chapter is Emanative Percussion Trio, a stripped-back ensemble featuring horn and woodwind player Ben Hadwen and percussionist Magnus Mehta, exploring combinations of hypnotic drumming and adventurous improvisation in a soundscape that flows from quiet introspection to euphoric peaks.

Netil Radio residents Petra’s Dream will start the night spinning everything from hard bossa and Ethio-jazz to dub and psych, returning after the show to keep the dancefloor going until late with more rare grooves, global beats, leftfield disco and organic electronic music, all vinyl as always.

BBY HOME TOWN TOUR (ALTERNATIVE // INDIE) - SOLD OUT

The final leg lands in London at Grow, the band’s current home and studio base. Expect a special hometown show charged with everything that made bby’s early gigs legendary.

ABOUT THE EVENT

London-based alternative band bby (Benjy Gibson, Deon Graham, Tom Parkin, Jessy Jacquet-Cretides, and Tommaso Medica) burst onto the scene with their 2024 debut album 1 and follow-up EP i just want next year to be better. Building a cult following through DIY shows at their East London HQ, the band became known for raw, high-energy performances that channel the chaos of classic house-party punk.

MILES AWAY WITH ROB J MADIN & THE MONSTRO BAND (LIVE) // SANTA LETICIA // DOM ORE & ROBERTA CUTOLO (SOUL, FUNK, LATIN, DISCO, REGGAE)

Miles Away returns to Grow with a special night of deep rhythms, live jazz-funk and global dancefloor sounds.

ABOUT THE EVENT

We’re delighted to welcome the magnificent Santa Leticia, the Worldwide FM resident known for her richly eclectic vinyl sets. Born in the sun-soaked landscapes of Andalusia and now based in Newcastle, Santa Leticia weaves vibrant musical journeys across Latin America, the Caribbean, Brazil and Africa, underpinned by jazz, rare groove, funk and disco. A dedicated digger with a beautifully fluid style, her sets move effortlessly between eras and continents — always soulful, always percussive, and always built for the dancefloor.

For the first time ever at a Miles Away label event we welcome a live band to the lineup. Last year we had the pleasure of releasing Rob J Madin’s debut EP MONSTRO on Miles Away to critical acclaim, and after the EP launch party hosted in the band’s hometown of Sheffield, we’ve been eager to bring them down to London to showcase their raw instrumental jazz-funk. For this special occasion, the band will perform together in a live setting for just the second time ever.

Travelling down from Sheffield, this six-piece outfit delivers deep grooves, cosmic textures and infectious rhythm, blending original compositions with inspired reinterpretations. Rooted in the spirit of 70s fusion, library grooves and deep dancefloor rhythm sections, their sound channels heavyweight musicianship and hypnotic improvisation with serious low-end pressure.

Miles Away residents Roberta Cutolo and Dom Ore will be providing DJ support either side of the live show and special guests. As always with our label nights, this is a celebration of the full spectrum of soulful music — past, present and future.

RITMO DEL BARRIO PRESENTS CHICHA POR FAVOR: LAS CHANCHAS (LIVE) (LATIN, CUMBIA, CHICHA)

Chicha Por Favor returns to light up East London with another deep dive into the hypnotic pulse of tropical cumbia. Rooted in Peruvian chicha but always pushing forward, this edition welcomes a brand-new live force ready to shake the foundations.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Headlining the night are Las Chanchas, a fresh project born in 2025 with a mission: high energy, fearless experimentation, and a bold reimagining of Amazonian chicha. Challenging traditional line-ups and instrumentation, Las Chanchas prove that fewer players can still deliver a full, rich, psychedelic tropical sound. Drawing from diverse cultural and musical backgrounds, they explore new sonic territories while preserving the hypnotic groove at the heart of cumbia. This is just the beginning, and they’re coming to give it everything.

Joining the session is special guest Danny Fitzgerald (Rum Punch Show, NTS Radio). A Liverpool-born DJ and respected digger of classic tropical sounds, Danny has compiled calypso, highlife, jùjú, apala and Afro-Latin jazz for Soul Jazz Records and has spent years championing rare Caribbean, Latin American and West African records. Expect deep selections, rare cuts, and pure tropical heat.

On resident duties:

Paskal Rough & Tough (Cool Breeze) — guiding dancers through 60s and 70s sounds from Jamaica, the Caribbean and Latin America, travelling from the Peruvian Andes to Colombian coasts and beyond, soaking in bass-heavy grooves and hypnotic accordion melodies.

Representing the heart and vision behind the party, Ritmo del Barrio continues its mission of celebrating vintage Latin American music, with a special focus on Peruvian cumbia (chicha), bridging heritage and contemporary tropical energy.

Expect psychedelic guitars, rolling percussion, deep basslines and sweat on the dancefloor.

DEEPDIG: MICHE // LIMINAL PEOPLE (FUNK, SOUL, DEEP HOUSE, DISCO, GLOBAL GROOVES)

Our in-house series shaped around patience, intention and deep listening. A space to settle in and let the music unfold slowly. Two four-hour sets and proper journeys through sound.

ABOUT THE EVENT

This marks the fourth time we’ve invited miche to guide the room, and every time he’s brought something special. A DJ with a deep love for dancefloor-ready music in all its forms, miche has quietly become one of London’s most trusted selectors. His With Love compilations on Mr Bongo trace a global path through Brazilian MPB, modern soul, deep house and jazz-funk, each record sourced with care and cultural depth. Beyond the decks he co-runs four reissue labels dedicated to unearthing forgotten treasures and restoring lost chapters.

From all-night sessions across Europe to festival takeovers and radio shows, his sets carry that same curiosity. Nostalgia as a bridge, not a destination. Jazz that opens into house. Soul that drifts toward broken beat. Deep grooves that stretch, build and lock the floor step by step. At Grow, he knows exactly how to shape a room over time.

Joining him are Alfie and Paloma, Liminal People, back at Grow after warming up Mr Bongo here last August. Both have played for From The Crates and for DeepDig separately. This time they step into a full four-hour stretch.

Their sound moves through obscure disco, ecstatic house and leftfield dancefloor oddities, stitched together with instinct and joy. Rooted in the London soulful scene, they bring a psychedelic edge and an openness that draws dancers in. Expect lift, depth and a few curveballs along the way.

SWEET ONES: IG CULTURE // KANE // KOMANCHE (BRUK, BROKEN BEAT, JAZZ, HOUSE, SOULFUL)

On Sunday 3rd May, Bank Holiday Sunday, sweet ones are honoured to welcome a true pioneer of London’s broken beat movement: IG Culture.

ABOUT THE EVENT

As a DJ, producer and co-founder of the influential CoOp Presents sessions, IG Culture has been instrumental in shaping the bruk sound that emerged from West London in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Drawing from jazz, house, soul, Afro-rhythms and soundsystem culture, his productions and DJ sets helped define a movement that brought together dancers, DJs and musicians from across London’s underground.

For this special Bank Holiday gathering, Sweet Ones welcomes him to Grow Hackney for a night built around deep musical exploration and dancefloor energy. Known for its open-minded approach to club music, Sweet Ones continues to create spaces where genres blur and the focus remains firmly on connection, movement and serious selections.

DEEPDIG: AUNTIE FLO // KATE HUTCHINSON (GLOBAL DANCE, DEEP HOUSE, PERCUSSIVE GROOVES, LEFTFIELD ELECTRONICS)

For our next DeepDig, we welcome Auntie Flo for a rare four-hour extended set, along with Kate Hutchinson building the dancefloor.

ABOUT THE EVENT

DeepDig is about time and trust. Letting a selector stretch out. Letting the dancefloor unfold gradually. Two extended journeys. Seven hours of sound. A space to listen deeply and move freely.

Described by The Guardian as “taking World Music into the future”, Auntie Flo has spent the past decade building a body of work rooted in rhythm, ecology and connection. He has become one of the most adventurous DJs of his generation, carrying a global sensibility shaped by sets everywhere from Panorama Bar and Fabric to Glastonbury, Havana and beyond.

His releases span Brownswood, Kompakt, Disco Halal and Huntleys and Palmers, alongside his own Highlife and A State of Flo imprints. 2018’s Radio Highlife won the Scottish Album of the Year award and cemented his reputation for weaving highlife, house and percussive electronics into something expansive and emotionally open. Recent album In My Dreams I’m a Bird and I’m Free continues that trajectory, balancing spiritual warmth with dancefloor weight.

A four hour set with Auntie Flo is not about quick hits. It is about immersion. Tracing lines between continents and communities. Letting rhythm do its slow work.

Warming things up for over three hours is Kate Hutchinson, a respected journalist, broadcaster and DJ. Formerly of Worldwide FM and now hosting a fortnightly Soho Radio show, she moves across rhythmic, percussive dance music from around the globe with depth and intention. Expect a patient, embodied opening that sets the tone properly.

This one is a real musical gift. Settle in early, find your spot, and let the night run its full course.

Her sets are led by feel rather than genre, pulling from deep electronic music, house, soul, jazz and leftfield cuts, always with a strong sense of flow and intention.

Alongside her work as a DJ, Rebecca is also a composer and producer. Her debut album With Love, From Glasgow was released on her own label, Rebecca’s Records, and reflects the same musical curiosity that runs through her DJ sets. You hear it in the pacing, the space she allows records to breathe, and the way she builds long arcs rather than chasing quick moments.

That depth has taken her to dancefloors and festivals including Phonox, Printworks, We Out Here, Lost Village, Kelburn Garden Party and Riverside Festival. Over four hours, this set is about trust and immersion, building slowly and rewarding those who stay locked in.

Opening the night is Maria Hanlon, one of London’s most exciting rising selectors. Her three hour warm up is thoughtful, grooving and intentional, setting the tone for the night without rushing the energy. Blending soulful house, deep house, broken beat and garage, Maria brings warmth, swing and a sharp understanding of how to shape a room.

Alongside her growing presence on dancefloors and festivals, Maria is also a respected radio host on Voices Radio, where her weekly show reflects the same care and musical curiosity she brings to the booth. She has quickly built a reputation as a selector with taste, confidence and a clear point of view.

This DeepDig takes place on International Women’s Day, reflecting what the night stands for at its core. Giving space and time to women shaping music culture right now, simply because that is how it should be.

ABOUT DEEPDIG

DeepDig is a night curated by Grow, that brings some of our favourite DJs and producers to play the sets that they don’t usually get to play at bigger venues and festivals. Expect lengthy, no-holds-barred DJ sets in intimate settings, where they have free reign to take the crowd in whatever direction they like.

Too many people, particularly young men, are struggling. Over the past eight years, Drum Works has lost members to suicide and addiction. The PACE Foundation was set up in memory of Thomas Crosbie, who died in 2016 aged 27. The connection between both organisations is deeply personal, with long-standing links through family, friends and shared community events.

This event is about remembering those we’ve lost, highlighting local mental health support, and raising funds for the PACE Foundation’s COLDFIRE festival and Drum Works’ ongoing work with vulnerable young people.

RITMO DEL BARRIO PRESENT CHICHA POR FAVOR (LATIN-PUNK, PERUVIAN CUMBIA, TROPICAL)

ABOUT THE EVENT

Chicha Por Favor returns with a slightly twisted compass. Known for its deep love of Peruvian chicha and vintage tropical sounds, this edition opens the dancefloor where cumbia heat collides with punk urgency.

Headlining the night are Chico Majara, a London-based Latin-punk beast. Their sound fuses the sensual swing of salsa and boogaloo with the feral energy of early punk, Caribbean sweat, sharp edges, and theatrical intensity.

Live, Chico Majara are explosive: wild, sassy, physical, and impossible to ignore. Fresh from UK and European stages, they arrive armed with their latest release Suave Y Salvaje, a concept EP blending recording techniques from different eras into a uniquely pulsating, modern tropical sound.

Supporting the live chaos, the DJs keep the journey rooted and roaming across the Latin Americas:

Tomoko (Tropical Yard) spins an electrifying mix of jazz, swing, R&B, soul, funk, gospel, and Afro-Latin & Caribbean sounds, all on 45s and 78s, delivering a whirlwind vintage dance experience.

Paskal Rough & Tough (Cool Breeze) digs deep into the 60s–70s sounds of Jamaica, the Caribbean, and Latin America. From Peruvian Andes to Colombian coasts, Panamanian calypso to French Antilles rhythms, Jamaican basslines to Mexican accordion hypnosis: a true tropical voyage.

Representing the heart of the night, Ritmo del Barrio brings its signature selection rooted in vintage Latin American music, with a special focus on Peruvian cumbia (chicha), connecting past, present, and future on the dancefloor.

This is Chicha Por Favor — not traditional, not polite, but still deeply tropical. Come early, stay late, dance hard.

ESE & THE VOODUU PEOPLE

Championed by Iggy Pop, Lena Dunham, Cerys Matthews, Jools Holland, Alabama 3 and many more, ESE & THE VOODUU PEOPLE play an electric and eclectic blend of funk, soul, Afrobeat, jazz and rock’n’roll, and tap into deep wells of spiritual energy.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Ese was born to make music. “I heard Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix and never looked back,” she says, and though raised as a London child on grunge, hip-hop and r'n'b, her Nigerian heritage’s traditional spirituality also shaped the artist she is today. “It was almost like music chose me, rather than I chose music,” Ese says.

Ese busked on the streets of London for a couple of years before finding a place for herself in the studio and on stages ranging from intimate pubs and clubs to heaving festivals. She has released two acclaimed studio albums, UP IN SMOKE and IS THIS JAZZ? and the live MERCURY IN RETROGRADE. She performed in 2025’s hit Netflix series TOO MUCH and her classic DYNAMITE features on the soundtrack album alongside tracks by artists ranging from Nina Simone, John Cale and Richard and Linda Thompson to Sugababes and Cate Le Bon.

Her new studio album is scheduled for 2026 release.

EQUAL PARTS: SECRETSUNDAZE // DEM (HOUSE // DEEP HOUSE // DISCO)

Picking up where they left off in 2025, 2026 sees Equal Parts hit the ground running with a huge mid-February knees up showcasing DJ sets from London mainstay Secretsundaze and rising star Dem.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Conceived in a warehouse just a stone’s throw from Main Yard, Equal Parts have been throwing parties exclusively at Grow four times a year without fail since 2018. Forged in the twilight of Hackney Wick’s warehouse heyday, Equal Parts set out with the humble intention of curating friendly, dance-focused parties that guarantee maximum aural and kinetic pleasure at Hackney Wick’s best-loved DIY venue. Staying true to these roots, seven years on, Equal Parts is now a bona fide Friday-night Grow stalwart, with their resident DJs lining up at recent parties alongside a roster of heavy weight and rising talent, from Wes Baggaley to Tia Cousins, Parris, Maybe Laura, B.Love, and John Gómez. For 2026, Equal Parts ensure top-tier selectors grace Hackney Wick’s best-loved dancefloor yet again, with two further dates lined up for Solero season and a friends and family Halloween spectacular slated for October. Expect boat party energy into the early hours with sounds spanning House, Disco, Techno, and everything in-between.

LINE UP:

Topping the bill with a three hour set is Secretsundaze (James Priestley). Secretsundaze originally cut his teeth as a d’n’b DJ and a promoter of not-so-legal warehouse parties before becoming an annual resident at the legendary Robert Johnson and landing gigs at Panorama Bar and Queen at Smart Bar, which is the kind of gigography that many selectors would happily settle for. But Priestley’s love of underground club culture has propelled him even further and Secretsundaze is now two decades deep, a pillar of London culture that has poured blood, sweat and tears into the city’s music community. In recent years Secretsundaze has also notched up a stellar production record, and is known for bringing a fresh take on house music that draws from breakbeat energy and trancey euphoria with releases on renowned imprints Peach Discs, Warning, and Echocentric Records among others. Lock in for three hours of gorgeous house music reflecting two decades at the cutting edge of house music culture. Expect vintage and unreleased gems alike, from the deep to the percussive.

Supporting Secretsundaze on the night is Dem, a DJ, a community ambassador (cofounding member of common ground, a collective focusing in promoting equal representation of FLINTA within the music industry) and music educator. She has played across both UK and European festivals, and graced dancefloors in London, including NT's loft, Club Cheek, Drumsheds, and The Cause. Throughout her ten-year span as a DJ, she has held residencies on Netil Radio, Voices and Do!! You!!! Radio. Dem weaves downtempo, house and pop, and craves to create a space for dance and community. After stellar sets at Equal Parts over the years, we can't wait to welcome back Dem into the Equal Parts fold.

Equal Parts resident fairground kicks things off on the night with a vinyl-only set from early doors. Expect a warming sonic journey weaving house, disco, and downtempo sounds from this Equal Parts mainstay.

JAZZ JAM WITH STRATOS // EVERY THURSDAY // SPECIAL GUESTS: SHIRLEY TETTEH + FLO REDMONDS

Join us for an evening hosted by Rio Kai,  bandleader of house band Stratos, alongside special guests, in our intimate, reimagined canalside venue.

Rio is a Mercury Prize-nominated bassist known for his energetic rhythmic phrasing and blistering lines. Hosting this one-off night, bringing special guests into the heart of our weekly jazz series. Plus entry is just £5 on the door and £6/8 for a table and ticket in advance.

Over the coming months, Rio will be inviting more guest artists to Grow’s Thursday jazz session, with a focus on rising women instrumentalists who are shaping the future of the UK music scene. This curated evening offers a rare chance to see Rio step beyond the usual Stratos lineup, spotlighting next-generation talent.

Rio Kai says:

“As someone who has had the opportunity to regularly play at Grow Hackney and have the overwhelming support of the team at Grow, as well as the local community, being able to share that platform with artists from all different walks of life and points in their careers holds a personal affinity for me. Being able to provide a space for visibility and recognition for artists that may not be as represented in the music scene holds great importance, and should also be a chance for artists within the community to connect with each other as well as new audiences.”

For this session, two special guest artists will be joining the stage at our Jazz Jam. We’re excited to welcome Shirley Tetteh, a guitarist whose journey into jazz began with Tomorrow’s Warriors and has since seen her become one of the most in-demand players on the UK scene. From Nérija and Maisha to Jazz Jamaica and Groundation, Shirley’s work bridges forward-thinking jazz with groove, experimentation and original improvisation.

Also joining us is Flo Redmonds, a rising saxophonist already making waves with her powerful sound and fluid, expressive approach. A Guildhall alumna and former NYJO member, Flo has shared stages with some of the UK’s most exciting jazz artists and was recently named a Jazzwise Future Mover at Ronnie Scott’s.Our reimagined canalside snug becomes a warm, plant-filled stage space where you can sit just a few feet from some of London’s finest jazz musicians and savour every detail of the music and setting.

To mark the season, our menu will take on a festive twist, with mulled wine and mulled apple to keep things cosy, plus an extra-special seasonal Espresso Martini made with Honduras La Cidra guest beans from Square Mile Coffee Roasters.

The first set begins at 7.30pm, followed by a late-night jam session starting at 9.30pm.

TUMBAITO

Tumbaito is the electrifying Afro-Latin ensemble led by master percussionist Williams Cumberbache, a Venezuelan-born musician based in London who has been at the heart of the UK’s vibrant world music scene for over 30 years. Formed in 1994, Tumbaito blends deep Afro-Cuban and Latin American rhythms with elements of salsa, jazz, funk, descarga and other urban grooves to create a hypnotic, groove-driven sound that is as joyful as it is dynamic.

Williams Cumberbache’s musical journey spans continents and genres. Before settling in the UK in the early 1990s, he represented Venezuela in a BBC-organised celebration of the 500-year anniversary of discovery with two major Latin American ensembles. Since then he has collaborated with esteemed artists across the global music spectrum, including Björk, Goldie and The Cure, as well as working alongside leading jazz figures such as Jean Toussaint and Orphy Robinson.

Live, Tumbaito is renowned for its infectious energy and rhythmically rich performances. Whether it’s an afternoon canalside set or a late-night dancefloor session, the band’s tight percussion, powerful grooves and spontaneous improvisation have made them firm favourites at Grow Hackney’s Canalside Sessions and a regular highlight for audiences who love music that moves both body and soul.

Byron Wallen is one of the UK’s most influential jazz trumpeters, composers and educators. A fearless innovator, he has performed and recorded with global icons including George Benson, Hugh Masekela, Wynton Marsalis, Manu Dibango and Chaka Khan, while leading acclaimed projects such as Sound Advice and Four Corners. His work spans international festivals, major commissions for the BBC, National Theatre and Arts Council England, and he is the recipient of the BBC Innovation in Jazz Award and the Paul Hamlyn Award, cementing his status as a true giant of British jazz.

Nathaniel Cross is a powerhouse trombonist, composer and arranger at the heart of the UK’s contemporary jazz movement. A Guildhall-trained musician, he has played with and arranged for artists including Solange, Stormzy, Courtney Pine, Moses Boyd and the BBC Concert Orchestra, appearing on stages from Glastonbury to the North Sea Jazz Festival. Celebrated for his versatility and musical vision, his debut EP The Description Is Not The Described showcases a bold, modern sound that places him firmly among the leading voices of his generation.

His journey has taken him across the UK and Europe, playing venues and festivals including Spiritland, Brilliant Corners, Café 1001, Brixton Disco Festival, Red Light Radio, Kasheme Zurich and Sacré Paris.

A regular at We Out Here Festival and making his Love Supreme debut with Mr Bongo in 2023, Chris has shared stages with artists such as Dave Lee, Kenny Dope, Greg Wilson, Horse Meat Disco, Nightmares on Wax, Luke Una, Dimitri From Paris and Roy Ayers. His dedication to digging culture was also recognised in World Records Volume Two, celebrating record collectors from around the globe. Dom Ore returns to DeepDig for his second appearance, following an incredible warm-up set on the terrace before Medlar and hosting a Miles Away Records party at Grow last year. We’re excited to welcome him back. A highly respected DJ, broadcaster and label founder, Dom’s influence runs deep through the UK’s soulful music scene.

Starting out at Acid Jazz Records, he developed an encyclopaedic knowledge of soul, jazz and disco while working alongside artists like Leroy Hutson and The Brand New Heavies. In 2019, Dom founded Miles Away Records, a label dedicated to reissuing rare and underappreciated soul, jazz and disco gems. With releases championed by tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson and Colleen Cosmo Murphy, and collaborations with legendary imprints including Brunswick, Easy Street and Sleeping Bag, the label has become essential listening for collectors and dancers alike.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Petra’s Dream, made up of Lukas Kuhn, Kid Dynamite and Bruno Spadale, return to their spiritual home of Grow for an extended all night dance.
