Hackney Wick Overground is the nearest station. Grow is around 2 to 4 minutes’ walk from Hackney Wick station.Stratford station is also walkable via Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, but it is further away. Allow around 20 to 25 minutes on foot, depending on your route.

How do I get to Grow from Hackney Wick station?

From Hackney Wick Overground, head towards Wallis Road and Main Yard. Grow is only a short walk from the station.

How do I get to Grow from Stratford?

You can walk from Stratford station to Grow through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Allow around 20 to 25 minutes on foot, depending on your pace and route. For the shortest journey by public transport, travel to Hackney Wick Overground.

Is Grow near Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park?

Yes. Grow is in Hackney Wick, close to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Depending on where you are in the Park, the walk to Grow can be anything from around 5 to 25 minutes.

Is Grow near East Bank?

Yes. Grow is near East Bank, the cultural quarter in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Bookings and walk-ins

Do I need to book in advance?

Not always. Grow runs a hybrid model, with some tables available to book in advance and other tables kept for walk-ins. If you’re visiting for food, coming in a group, arriving after an event nearby, or planning to visit on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, booking is recommended. Can I visit Grow without a booking?

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome when we have space. Arrive early if you want a canalside table or if you’re visiting during a busy event.

Can I book a table?

Yes. You can book a table in advance through our website. Up to 8 people: book online through our table booking page.

9 to 30 people: complete the large group booking request form.
More than 30 people: enquire about private hire or large group options.

Are reservations free?

Reservations are free to make, but card details are required to confirm the booking. Some larger bookings may require a deposit. We’ll confirm this with you before the booking is finalised.

How long is a booking for?

Bookings for more than 8 people are usually for 3 hours. After that, your table may be made available for other customers. For bookings of fewer than 8 people, your booking length will be shown when you book online.

Are there limits on group bookings?

Yes. Large group bookings are usually limited to 30 people for a 3-hour session. For groups of more than 30, please enquire. A hire fee or minimum spend may apply.

What are the latest booking times for large groups?

Friday: latest start time is usually 8pm.
Saturday: latest start time is usually 7pm.

What happens if we arrive late?

You may lose your booking or be charged if:You do not arrive for your booking.
Fewer than 50% of your group arrive on time.
You arrive late without letting us know.
You make last-minute changes.
You do not check in at the bar when you arrive.

Do all guests need to arrive at the booking start time?

Guests arriving after the booking start time may need to queue. Entry is not guaranteed if Grow reaches capacity.

Do I need to confirm changes to guest numbers or timings?

Yes. Please confirm any changes to timings or guest numbers at least 72 hours in advance by emailing reservations@growhackney.co.uk. We’ll do our best to help, but last-minute changes cannot always be accommodated.

Is there a door charge?

Some events are ticketed or have a door charge. After 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays, guests may need to join the general queue and pay for entry, depending on the event.

Food and drink

Do you serve food?

Yes. Grow has a kitchen serving seasonal food in Hackney Wick, with brunch, lunch, evening dishes and weekend food by the canal.

What kind of food do you serve?

Our food is seasonal, homemade and influenced by Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and British cooking. The menu is mostly plant-led, with vegan and vegetarian options, plus some ethically sourced meat options.

Do you do brunch?

Yes. Brunch is usually served from 11:00 to 15:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Can I come just for drinks?

Yes. You’re welcome to come to Grow for drinks, whether or not you’re eating. We serve local beers, cocktails, organic wines, soft drinks and low or no-alcohol options.

Do you have outdoor seating by the canal?

Yes. Grow has canalside outdoor seating, including covered and heated areas. Not every outdoor table is fully sheltered, so please check the weather and dress accordingly.

Do you have covered seating?

Yes. We have a mix of indoor, covered and outdoor seating, including the main indoor area, mezzanine, greenhouse and terrace. Seating areas can change depending on the event, weather and booking setup.

Will all our food arrive at the same time?

Not necessarily. All dishes are freshly made to order, so food may arrive at different times.

How do I order food and drinks?

You can order at the main bar, the outside bar when open, or by scanning the QR code on your table. During busy times, the QR system may not be available. Please bring your table number to the bar when ordering.

Can I preorder food or drinks?

Preorders are only available for large group bookings.

Can I bring my own food or drink?

No, except in allergy-specific cases and only with prior written permission. Email reservations@growhackney.co.uk before your visit.

Can I bring a birthday cake?

Yes, you are welcome to bring a cake. Please note:We cannot store cakes in the fridge.
We cannot provide napkins or paper plates, so please bring your own.

  • Do not bring a knife into the venue.

  • We can provide a table knife on request.

  • Do not bring candles.

Allergens and dietary requirements

Do you cater for allergens?

We have gluten-free options on the menu, but we handle all major allergens in our kitchen and bars. We cannot guarantee allergen-free food or drink. Please speak to the team before ordering if you have an allergy.

Can you accommodate coeliac guests?

Unfortunately, we are unable to serve coeliac guests safely because of the risk of cross-contamination. With advance notice, coeliac guests are welcome to bring their own food. Please email reservations@growhackney.co.uk before your visit.

Do you have vegan and vegetarian options?

Yes. Our menu is mostly plant-led and includes vegan and vegetarian options.

Do you have free live music?

Yes. Many Grow events are free or low-cost, including live music, DJs, jazz and community events. Some events are ticketed, so please check the event listing before you come.

Can I visit Grow without going to an event?

Yes. You can come for food, drinks or a canalside table even if you are not attending a specific event. On busy evenings, especially Fridays and Saturdays, queues, door charges or ticketed entry may apply.

How do I buy tickets?

Can I get a refund if I can’t come?

We are unable to issue refunds for pre-booked or prepaid events if you can no longer attend. You are welcome to pass your ticket to a friend.

What happens if Grow cancels an event?

If Grow cancels an event, we’ll notify ticket holders as early as possible and issue a full refund. In some cases, performances may be moved indoors or to another part of the venue rather than cancelled.

What happens in bad weather?

In bad weather, outdoor performances may be moved indoors. Full refunds are only issued if Grow cancels the event.

Pets, children and bikes

Are dogs welcome?

Yes. Dogs are welcome until 8pm. They must be kept on a lead and stay close to your table.

Can I bring children?

Yes. Under-18s are welcome until 8pm if accompanied by a parent or guardian and seated at your table. Most evening events are 18+, so please check the event listing before visiting with under-18s.Events: https://www.growhackney.co.uk/events

As we are a music venue, sound levels can occasionally be higher than those experienced in everyday environments at weekends.We strongly recommend that babies and young children wear appropriately fitted ear defenders whenever live music or amplified sound is taking place. Parents and guardians are responsible for assessing whether sound levels are suitable for their child and for ensuring they are appropriately supervised at all times.

Can I bring my bike?

There are bike racks at the entrance. Please bring your own lock. Bikes cannot be brought into the venue. Fold-up bikes may be allowed with permission from the Duty Manager.

Payments and ID

Do you accept cash?

No. Grow is a cashless venue. We accept card and contactless payments only.

Do I need ID?

Yes. Most events are 18+. Challenge 25 is in place, so please bring valid photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence, if you look 25 or under.

Photos, filming and recording

Can I take photos or film at events?

Personal photography is allowed. For professional photography, filming, press access or commercial use, please email hello@growhackney.co.uk in advance.

Cloakroom and lost property

Is there a cloakroom?

Yes. The cloakroom is £2 per item at the main bar. Availability may depend on the event.

What should I do if I lose something at Grow?

Email reservations@growhackney.co.uk with a detailed description of the lost item. We’ll do our best to locate it and respond. Lost property is kept for 2 weeks.

Seating and spaces

What seating options are available?

Grow has several seating areas, including:

Stage Area: indoor seating near the bar and stage, depending on the event.

Mezzanine: indoor seating above the main bar.

Greenhouse: covered and heated indoor/outdoor seating.

Terrace: outdoor canalside tables, mostly covered and heated.We reserve the right to allocate seating areas and table numbers.

Is all outdoor seating sheltered?

Most outdoor seating is covered, but not all of it. Please check the weather and dress accordingly.

Can I choose where I sit?

You can make a request when booking, but we cannot guarantee a specific table or area. Seating depends on group size, weather, event setup and availability.

Decorations and celebrations

Can I bring decorations?

Please contact us in advance at reservations@growhackney.co.uk. If decorations are approved, they must be eco-friendly, recyclable and free-standing on tables only. Nothing can be attached to the walls. Balloons must be eco-friendly.
