Canalside Sessions with Williams Cumberbache is a regular weekend treat that brings world-class live music right to Hackney Wick.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Every Sunday afternoon from 1-4 pm, master conga player Williams Cumberbache, with over 30 years in the UK music scene and collaborations with legends like Goldie and Björk. Each week Williams will be joined by special guest bands bringing amazing live music to Hackney Wick every week with something different.

Ideal for families, friends, and music lovers alike and even your dog will enjoy this uplifting experience which is all about connection, relaxation, and the joy of live music—an essential part of Grow’s vibrant community.

SkA JaMaIcA brings together some of the finest musicians in UK ska, reggae and jazz, led by world-renowned keyboardist, producer and musical director Clifton “Bigga” Morrison, whose credits include Freddie McGregor, Aswad, John Holt and The Ruff Cutt Band, alongside drummer Daniel Crosby.

The son of jazz activist Gary Crosby, Daniel has been performing professionally since the age of 11 and has built a 30-year career across jazz, reggae, ska, soul and beyond. His credits include The Selecter, Jazz Jamaica, Courtney Pine, Goldie, The Brand New Heavies, Ziggy Marley, Amy Winehouse, Ernest Ranglin and many more.

The band also features guitarist Alan Weekes, a highly respected player once praised by Ernest Ranglin himself. Together, SkA JaMaIcA delivers a heavyweight live set rooted in ska, reggae and jazz, played by musicians with deep history, serious pedigree and real feeling.

Grow’s food menu includes brunch options and a fusion of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Modern British plates and sharers made with seasonal ingredients, always with handmade touches. Enjoy a drinks menu with a range of curated drinks, including hot and soft options.
