Worldwide FM's Kamar, host of the monthly show Tealeaves, which explores music through migration, has curated an all-star line-up of some of his favourite selectors for this bank holiday session. A celebration of family and love.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Think boogie, dub, house, latin, jazz - this party is a culmination of the sounds that have shaped and inspired Kamar's musical journey, featuring friends and kindred spirits, each bringing their own sound and record collection to the dance:
Seiji Ono of NTS fame, a French-Japanese DJ and producer who also runs Floating Points' beloved label Melodies International. Seiji has held down the You're A Melody residency alongside Floating Points, Mafalda, Antal and more. Seiji digs deep and plays deeper — a soul and boogie obsessive who's taken his crates from Fuji Rock to Rex Club to Phonox, always chasing the same warmth wherever he lands. Seiji's recent shows on NTS and set at Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festival have been standouts, and we are so excited to have him join.
Zaereo from Worldwide FM and Radio Alhara brings her deep and psychedelic record collection full of rock, jazz and beautifully strange experiments. Her sound is expansive, trippy and explorative with a strong focus on music from the global south. Zaereo has been impressing on the international stage of late, playing as part of J.A.W. Family Reunion in Berlin alongside Theo Parrish, Palms Trax and Suze Ijo.
Miss Mash (also from Worldwide FM), British-born with Yugoslavian heritage - her style is a gorgeous cultural mash-up energy reflecting her own cultural fusions, sliding across Egyptian Disco, Broken Beat, Dub, Samba and Boogie. Mash is also part of the Bristol-based Queer and Non-binary collective Girl on Girl and Hot Wax Bristol Record Shop.
These nights are, by nature, inclusive spaces — meant to be safe ones, where the cultural richness of global music can be heard, felt and celebrated. Channelling love, movement and soul. Come dance and join the family :)
