FREESTYLE TRAINING CYPHER - WORKSHOP & MEAL

Over 2022, Grow, Hackney is hosting 10 workshops for Hackney residents to join makers, producers, musicians, artists and activists and participant in an introductory creative activity and enjoy a communal meal together.

Join MC, studio artist, streamer, and music producer, LeeN, at this introductory Freestyle Training Cypher (FTC) on Monday 9 May

£5 pp

This workshop covers 3 skills/techniques that will help you develop your improv/freestyle craft. The workshop is delivered in the form of a “rap cypher” so come prepared to participate!

This session will feature talks and exercises on the following skills:

  • Word Association

  • Maintaining a Momentum

  • Telling a Story

A healthy and nutritious vegan/veggie meal will also come as part of the evening where LeeN will be joining you so you can follow up with questions to him and others at the event, including the Grow Team.

About LeeN

A touring MC, studio artist, streamer, music producer and socially conscious soul, LeeN is an unapologetic realist with a goal to educate his audience, who can freestyle hard hitting studio quality verses at the drop of a hat. If you don't believe this, tune into one of his many live streamed shows.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK

  • You must live in Hackney and provide a Hackney postcode on booking

  • You must be over 18 years of age (please note: we operate a challenge 25 policy if you wish to buy alcohol)

  • You will get a free vegan/veggie meal as part of the workshop

  • You will be able to buy drinks as part of workshop

  • Please check your email before leaving for this workshop in case there is a last-minute cancellation of the event

  • If you are unable to make it, please do let us know as early as possible as there is a waiting list.

These events are part of the Hello Again, Hackney campaign, a Hackney Council (LBH) Initiative which aims to encourage residents and visitors to rediscover their favourite venues, businesses and public spaces and help get the local economy back on its feet after the strain of the coronavirus.
