Join us on the Canal Side Terrace for the second Soul On The Canal Side of 2025—an uplifting day-to-night session of jazzy soul, deep house, disco and more. The party kicks off outdoors and rolls into a late-night dancefloor session inside.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Join us on the Canal Side Terrace for the second installment of Soul On The Canal Side 2025—an uplifting all-day affair filled with jazzy, soulful vibes, deep house, disco and more. Curated by the much-loved Mucho Soul crew, the party starts early on the terrace and rolls through to an indoor late-night session packed with deep, soulful, and dancefloor-ready delights.
Expect a wide-ranging selection from 2-step soul, boogie and sunshine jazz to rare groove, deep house, and nu disco—all delivered by an expertly curated DJ line-up who know how to keep the grooves flowing and the dancers smiling.
Alan McKinnon
A London-based stalwart of the Scottish soul and jazz dance scene, Alan brings over three decades of crate-digging and dancefloor education. Known for his genre-defying sets and deep knowledge of all things jazz (and things that think they're jazz), expect everything from spiritual grooves to modal magic on vinyl only. He hosts Invisible Joy on Totally Wired Radio, now in its 10th year.
Mr & Mrs Mills
Also known as Gavin & Noriko Mills, this powerhouse DJ duo brings warmth, depth, and authenticity to every set. With a lifetime of music experience between them—from Cisco Records in Japan to residencies across the UK—their sets span soul, Latin, funk, disco, house and beyond. Always vinyl-rich, always from the heart.
Ras T
Trevor Levene aka Ras T is the founder of the iconic Househuntin’ nights in London. With over 40 years of DJing globally—from West Africa to Spain—he brings a blend of deep, soulful, and globally inspired house, funk, and disco. His DJ sets are emotional, intuitive, and joyfully unpredictable—“music as a mouthpiece,” as he puts it.
Mucho Soul
The duo behind it all—Ket Shah and Alan Kenny Arscott—return with their signature sound. Their Soul On The Canal Side events have been a summer mainstay at Grow Hackney since 2017, bringing a mix of jazz, funk, house, broken beat, and beyond. They’ve played stages at We Out Here, Southern Soul Festival, Vocalbooth, and many more across Europe.
