CANALSIDE SNUG SESSIONS SPECIAL: NOT THE USUAL JAM SESSION // SPECIAL GUESTS // OPEN JAM // FREE

  • Grow 98c Wallis Road London, England, E9 5LN United Kingdom (map)

Come to ‘Not The Usual Jam’ (NTUJ) and experience FREE live music in our reimagined canalside snug as it transforms into a warm, plant-filled stage space. Over the coming months, this cross-genre jam will welcome guest artists who spotlight women and diaspora voices, expanding the energy and musical perspectives of the night.

Whether you’re a keyboard virtuoso, beatmaker, vocalist, storyteller, or just beginning your musical journey, this jam is for you. It’s also a great place to meet other artists to sow the seeds of future collaborations.

As an audience member, you’ll be just a few feet away from musicians from across genres, creating spontaneous, organic moments you won’t see anywhere else.

To mark the season, our menu will take on a festive twist, with mulled wine and mulled apple to keep things cosy throughout the evening.

Special Guests

Special guests for the evening bring together a powerful trio of emerging voices in contemporary music. Ellie Harris, a gifted vocalist and songwriter known for her soulful, genre-blending sound and emotionally intimate performances inspired by artists like Hiatus Kaiyote and Esperanza Spalding, leads the lineup. She is joined by Qoha, a vocalist and songwriter whose journey spans from early choir beginnings to international touring, sharing deeply personal work shaped by years of collaboration and live performance. Completing the trio is Rowan Flack,  a multifaceted vocalist, composer, broadcaster, educator, and writer, whose creative breadth adds distinctive depth and perspective.
