CANALSIDE SNUG SESSIONS SPECIAL: NOT THE USUAL JAM SESSION // SPECIAL GUESTS // OPEN JAM // FREE

  • Grow 98c Wallis Road London, England, E9 5LN United Kingdom (map)

Come to ‘Not The Usual Jam’ (NTUJ) and experience FREE live music in our reimagined canalside snug as it transforms into a warm, plant-filled stage space. Over the coming months, this cross-genre jam will welcome guest artists who spotlight women and diaspora voices, expanding the energy and musical perspectives of the night.

Whether you’re a keyboard virtuoso, beatmaker, vocalist, storyteller, or just beginning your musical journey, this jam is for you. It’s also a great place to meet other artists to sow the seeds of future collaborations.

As an audience member, you’ll be just a few feet away from musicians from across genres, creating spontaneous, organic moments you won’t see anywhere else.

To mark the season, our menu will take on a festive twist, with mulled wine and mulled apple to keep things cosy throughout the evening.

Special Guests

Closing out the Canalside Snug programme, we welcome special guests Ineza and Antonia Carrena.

Ineza is a Rwandan born, Belgian raised jazz vocalist based in the UK, known for her warm, expressive tone and deep sense of storytelling. Rooted in jazz tradition and shaped by soul and contemporary influences, she brings emotional depth and musical clarity to every performance. A Trinity Laban graduate, she has appeared at leading venues and festivals across the UK and Europe. Her debut album IBUKA 2025 introduced her as a compelling vocalist and songwriter, and her live work continues to mark her out as a distinctive voice in modern jazz.

Antonia Carrena is a London based singer and songwriter blending R&B, UK garage and amapiano. Inspired by 90s and 2000s girl groups like Destiny’s Child and Sugababes, her sound pairs layered harmonies with smooth, powerful vocals and genre fluid production. Originally from Somerset, she has headlined venues including 93 Feet East and Gigi’s Hoxton, with extended shows at Notting Hill Arts Club and Hootananny Brixton. She has received national airplay on BBC 1Xtra and Kiss Fresh, with music featured on major productions including Top Boy.
