This Halloween, Chicha Por Favor returns in East London for a special Día de los Muertos celebration: Chicha De Los Muertos!

Join us for a night of hypnotic Peruvian Cumbia, tropical rhythms, live music and vinyl selections from across Latin America. Expect the usual Chicha Por Favor energy, with a little extra magic from the other side.
For this special edition, we are delighted to welcome back our good friends Los Bravos de la K’umbia! Led by Wilfredo Avalos, the band was formed in London by a group of friends sharing their Peruvian heritage and a deep love for Cumbia. Their captivating sound will take us on a musical journey from the heart of the Amazon rainforest to the coastal city of Lima and the peaks of the Andes, bringing infectious rhythms and psychedelic melodies to the dancefloor.
Joining us behind the decks is guest DJ Crucial Juice. Born and raised in London to a half-Mexican, half-Chilean family, Juice draws inspiration from music across the world, with a particular passion for Reggae and Latin sounds. He will be bringing a selection of Latin cuts from his vinyl collection, many discovered on recent digging trips to Mexico and sourced from fellow music lovers across the Americas. Expect Cumbia in all its forms, from rebajada to sabanero and beyond.
Our resident DJs Paskal Rough & Tough (Cool Breeze) and Stefano Cornerman (Ritmo del Barrio) will be keeping the dancefloor moving throughout the night. Paskal is a passionate record collector with a deep focus on vintage sounds from Jamaica, the Caribbean and Latin America, particularly the 1960s and 70s. Through his Cool Breeze nights, he explores the musical connections of the American tropics, travelling from the Peruvian Andes to the Colombian coast, through the calypsonians of Panama, the African-inspired drums of the French Antilles, Jamaican bass lines and the hypnotic melodies of Mexican accordions.
Stefano founded Ritmo del Barrio in 2021, is an independent record label dedicated to exploring vintage Latin American music, with a special focus on Peruvian Cumbia, also known as Chicha. The label is behind the Chicha Por Favor compilation series, bringing together rare Peruvian recordings from the 1970s and 80s in collaboration with historic labels such as Discos Horóscopo, Music Shop Perú and SonoRadio. Expect a vinyl selection of psychedelic Cumbia, Chicha and tropical treasures from Peru and beyond.
