VOLTA45 INVITES: PLANTFOOD // KAYA M // FUTURE JAZZ & GLOBAL GROOVES

On Saturday 20th Sept Volta45 invites Leeds based future jazz sextet PlantFood for an explosive live session, followed by a deep-digging DJ set of rare African, Latin & Jazz records.


ABOUT THE EVENT

Plantfood are a blood-pumping jazz force summoning an onslaught of electronic and acoustic sounds with influences ranging from heavy hitters like The Prodigy to the spiritual explorations of John Coltrane. The 6-piece collective guides audiences through the extremes of the mosh pit to serene meditations. Forming within and coming up through the inspiring Leeds Jazz scene, Plantfood have quickly become a defining sound on the Jazz music scene in the UK.

Ghanaian DJ and curator Volta45 keeps the energy high, spinning Highlife, Latin jazz, and percussive gems from his deep collection.

Kaya M is a selector and curator of vintage African and Latin sounds, weaving cumbia, merengue and boogaloo into journeys through time and continents. Her sets highlight the shared roots of African and Latin rhythms, showing how these diaspora traditions remain timelessly relevant.

ENTRY INFORMATION

Limited Pre-sale tickets: £5, £7 (limited availability on DICE). Free before 9 PM, the majority of tickets are on the door for £10 after.

BOOKING A TABLE

There is no seating for the performance but you can book tables up until 8pm in other areas of the venue to enjoy food and drink and still enjoy the event in the main area. If you don’t book in advance, arriving early is recommended as tables are on a first-come-first-served basis.
