A Call for Support to Preserve GROW's Experiment in Ethical Business

In the vibrant enclave of Hackney Wick lies GROW, a spirited grassroots music venue nestled within the eclectic landscape of Grow Studios—an artistic haven teeming with creativity. Since its inception in 2014, GROW has blossomed into a cultural hub, hosting over 2000 events and welcoming more than 500,000 visitors. Our ethos is to offer a sanctuary where diverse cultures converge, where music and art transcend boundaries, and where the spirit of community thrives.

As we mark our 10th anniversary, we find ourselves at a pivotal juncture. While we celebrate a decade of memories shared with partners and patrons, we also confront a sobering reality: without immediate investment in our long-term sustainability, our journey may end prematurely.

From its inception, GROW has been more than just a venue; it's been an experiment—a testament to ethical and sustainable business practices. We've channelled resources back into the community, championing local artists, musicians, and enterprises. Our commitment to eco-electricity and fair wages has been unwavering, fueled by a desire to challenge the status quo and effect tangible change.

Yet, the road hasn't been without its challenges. Skyrocketing rents, exacerbated by the spectre of gentrification, threatened our existence. The pandemic dealt another blow, testing our resilience amidst uncertain times. But through it all, we persevered, hosting live music both on-site and online, determined to keep the music playing.

Now, faced with a confluence of crises—from rising energy costs to the spectre of closure—we turn to our community for support. Our survival hinges on collective action, on rallying together to safeguard the future of GROW.

Our plan is ambitious yet essential: to invest in solar power, fortify our infrastructure, and transition to a Community Interest Company (CIC). With your help, we can pave the way for a more sustainable future, one where GROW continues to thrive as a beacon of creativity and community.

We invite you to join us on this journey and to stand with us as we navigate the challenges ahead. Together, we can ensure that GROW not only endures but flourishes for generations to come.

Thank you for your support. With your help, we can cultivate a future where the music never stops and the spirit of community prevails.
