The Shedding Histories rare groove party is back at Grow for Spring and very excited to be featuring their first live act - the psychedelic funk and soul outfit Granfergo.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Granfergo is formed of brothers Euan Dean on guitar and Adam Dean on bass. They are joined by Joe Hayles-Cotton on drums. The group is rooted in South American psychedelic cumbia, African funk, North American surf rock and soul music. The result is an earthy, cinematic harmony of soaring guitar melodies, rumbling bass riffs and groove-driven percussion. Granfergo strives to achieve a blending of styles from various places around the world that would not normally be found together. Among their many influences you will find film soundtracks, sampled electronic music, and some of the most obscure musical gems from every era and every corner of the globe.
Following Granfergo's live set, Shedding Histories residents Bena and Chameleonas will continue to bring the energy - playing diverse records from across the spectrum featuring jazz, global psych, reggae and funk. Also joining the party will be Voices Radio resident and Jelly Records stalwart, Gilkinspoon on warm-up duties so make sure to come down early and stay late!
