Looking for live music, DJs, jazz and things to do in Hackney Wick? Grow is an independent canalside bar, kitchen and grassroots music venue on the River Lea, close to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, East Bank, Stratford and Hackney Wick Overground.
Our events calendar brings together live bands, DJs, jazz jams, global sounds, community gatherings and late-night parties. With a focus on independent artists, local crews and culture rooted in connection. Come for the music, stay for seasonal food, organic wines, craft beers, cocktails, low/no drinks and canalside energy in one of East London’s most distinctive creative spaces.

FRANKIE’s Chess Club is a weekly nomadic club founded and supported by music lovers. Always on the move, the chess club has reached different bars, pubs, venues and gardens in east London bringing along a selection of eclectic chess boards and experimental records.
Entry is always free and any level is welcome. Get on the board, join the chess club !
The Chess Club DJs spin brain stimulating records all night long.
Bring your own board if possible as we don’t know how many people will show up for this event.

Our passion is for the cooking of the Middle East and southern Mediterranean so expect punchy flavours, warm spices and as always the best ingredients we can find to comfort and nourish the soul.
With our drinks, we partner with breweries St Austell and Signature Brew for our lagers and IPAs and serve organic wine and prosecco which help international wildlife charity, Born Free. We design our spin on such drinks as Rum Punch, homemade Hackney Spiced Rum, Vegan White Russian and Espresso Martini.

STITCH A RUDE TEA TOWEL WORKSHOP // ANTI VALENTINES EVENT
An 'up yours' to Valentine's schmalz!
A friendly fun session where we sew rude words onto tea towels. Participants get to take home their very own Rude Embroidery London style tea towel AND the materials to be able to finish their work of art at home.
Materials include: new tea towel, embroidery floss/thread, needle, embroidery hoop/frame.
Held in the super friendly Grow, Hackney.
Suitable for beginners. No swear word too rude! If you don’t like foul language, it’s not for you. Over 18's only.

It’s £16 to take part in this event which includes all the materials listed above.
The venue will be open and free entry as normal for those wanting to come in for a drink or some food. Book a table for you and your friends if you do not wish to take part in the workshop.
