Thanks for your interest in playing at Grow as part of our new curated DJ series, From The Crates.
These events are focused on deep listening, discovery and atmosphere. Each session is built around a specific genre, label, time or place. Something personal, thoughtful, and designed to uncover rare gems for the audience.
We want to hear music from all corners of the world, drawing from rich and diverse musical traditions. Sets exploring everything from jazz, funk, soul, psych and folk, to ambient, spiritual music, early electronica, dub, highlife, MPB, leftfield pop, global dance traditions and more.
We’re looking for selectors who are passionate about their music and want to share a story through sound. This isn’t about club energy or mixing. It’s about curation, mood, and taking people on a journey. You’re welcome to speak on the mic if you’d like to add context, tell stories or introduce records. Think of it like live radio, with the warmth and intimacy of a shared listening space.
Event Format
When: Sunday or Wednesday evenings, October - November
Fee: £75 + food and drinks
Set Time: 18:30/ 19:00 - 22:30. One extended set across the evening
Location: Grow, Hackney Wick. Inside the main space.
Audience: Listeners, music lovers, a mix of locals and heads
Equipment: DJM900 + x2 1200 Turntables + Needles (you're welcome to bring your own)
