GROW’S EVENT CALENDAR

Grow is independent and grassroots with international impact. Local and emerging artists are programmed alongside international artists.

Since GROW opened our doors in 2014, we’ve hosted 250+ events each year and had over 150,000 people through our doors.

Young musicians have jammed with Abass Dodoo (Ginger Baker band), Japanese contemporary dancers and indigenous didgeridoo masters from Australia, to name just a few. Our artist partners credit the collaborations, regularity of exposure and payments as helping them hone their craft. Those for come to Grow for the entertainment, food and drink experience a span of genres and together we celebrate diverse culture from around the globe to down the road.

Gramma's Grave are Adrian Aversion and Jeff Lindsey, with the occasional guest. They first met around 30 years ago, striking up a conversation as Jeff spotted Adrian walk across Harrinegey's Park View Waste Depot yard, (where they both worked as agency street cleansing operatives i.e. road sweepers), carrying a copy of Zola's Nana in hand. A common interest in film, literature and music spanning jazz to post punk and everything in between led to a lasting friendship. After many memorable gigs and other adventures together they eventually realised they should record some tracks and even start gigging. They started sticking up tracks on Bandcamp and eventually found some people that would allow them on to their stages. So here they are....come celebrate their spoken word, dubby, post-punk weirdness!

The Jonny Halifax Invocation is a new project from Grow regular -
Jonny Halifax. The skronk blues of Honkeyfinger, and the cosmic gospel fuzz of Jonny Halifax & The Howling Truth now mutate into the sprawling uncompromising free raga blues transcendentalism of The Invocation.
Inspired by Henry Flynt’s avant bluegrass experiments fusing country blues with eastern acoustic musical stylings, Spacemen 3’s contemporary sitar music, and the monolithic drone doom immersion of Sunn 0))). The blues are transmogrified, unhinged, reduced and re-imagined as intoxicating, trance-inducing, feedback-drenched noise paintings. Along with live film projections, The Invocation play out like a mind melting psychedelic western movie.

Bitvert - Live/DJ/Visuals
Bitvert is an electronic music producer and live AV performer.
Drawing on a DIY ethos of punk applied to nocturnal electronica and mechanical disruption, Civil Serpent was born in the warehouse subculture of East London, drawing together evil strands of pounding 4/4 techno, darkened electronic textures and stupendous sub bass frequencies that pull the head of the listener straight to the floor.
